This basket is a study in shaping. Starting with an 8" wooden base and weaving to a 10" x 1-1/4" ring for the outer rim drives the shape of the basket. Finish with a fancy lashing. This is a very sturdy basket.

Spalted Birch Bowl

This is a simple bowl style basket that looks dramatic because of the unusual base, decorative rim, and wooden bead accents. The bases are slices of a birch tree that looks like lines have ben painted on it because of the spalting.

A functional/decorative basket that is woven with a wooden base in chase weave and finished with a pie cruse rim. The base is about 5" with a rim of 9" and the finished basket measuring 5"x9"x4"

This basket is appropriate for every skill level. Skills used in this basket are: twining with RR and Seagrass, chase weave, shaping of the basket, lashing, and adding accents. It will take about 3-4 hours. the wooden bead accents are added while you weave.

New York, New York

Sleek and sophisticated, we start with a slender slotted ash base. The many narrow spokes create tightly woven sides resulting in a heavy-duty basket. Overlays, paired triple randing, and a swirly detail finish it off. Color choices. Topped with a pair of beautiful long leather straps. Finish it by lashing the rim with waxed linen for durability.
